The KidTalk Scrapbook is a Citizen Science project led by Professor Yi Ting Huang at the University of Maryland Language and Cognition Lab and Professor Josh Hartshorne at the Boston College Language Learning Lab.
Citizen Science is a collaboration between researchers and members of the public. Volunteers participate in research and assist with data collection. Parents complete surveys and make recordings of their children talking so that we can understand how Covid-19 policies, such as school closures, are affecting language development. Since we aren’t able to conduct research in person due to social distancing, we are relying on parents like you to help us collect data. Help us learn more about the effects of Covid-19 so that we can learn how best to support families during this stressful time.
