I am a PhD student in Jan Edward’s Learning to Talk lab. I earned an MS in Speech Pathology from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. My research interests are largely driven by my clinical knowledge and experiences, and I hope my work will inform clinical practices. I am most interested in phonological and lexical development, factors affecting language acquisition in young children, and methods of assessing speech production. I have explored how transcription, perception, and acoustic analyses can be used to better characterize consonants produced by 2-5-year-old children. In the future, I would like to apply these various assessment measures to fully understand differences in speech development for children with cochlear implants.
