Title: Bilingual assessment and use of interpreters

Abstract: Given the significant increase of the bilingual client population, assessment that addresses their unique needs must be provided. When a bilingual SLP is not available, the use of interpreters is often necessary in bilingual assessment. A discussion about bilingual assessment (standardized vs. informal) and the use of interpreters will be presented.

Title: Capturing Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in Alternative and Augmentative Communication.

Abstract: This presentation will focus on gaps in how AAC addresses cultural and linguistic diversity and strategies for adapting AAC to fit the needs of CLD clients and families with particular emphasis on voice output devices.
