UMARC's upcoming lecture, "Transitioning to Adulthood: Common Questions of Parents of Teens to a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician," featuring Dr. Charina Reyes, will take place on Thursday, March 8th, from 7-9pm, in Lefrak Hall at the University of Maryland (room TBD).

The lecture will address:
1. The current status of healthcare transition planning in youth with autism spectrum disorders.
2. Recommendations to assist with transition to adult medical providers.
3. Strategies to help teens with their transition to adulthood.
Common questions parents have as their teen transitions to adulthood will be addressed. Dr. Charina will also review findings from a study she conducted on parent and child factors associated with transition planning. 

About the Lecturer: Dr. Charina Reyes, MD, FAAP, is the newest member of the UMARC team. She specializes in the evaluation and management of children with developmental disabilities, particularly individuals with autism. Her research interests include issues related to transition to adulthood, health disparities in developmental disabilities, and global health.
