We are proud to congratulate Samira Anderson on receiving the University of Maryland’s Distinguished Scholar-Teacher Award, presented on Wednesday September 9th, during the Faculty and Staff Convocation ceremony. 

The Distinguished Scholar-Teacher Award recognizes tenured faculty who exemplify excellence in both research and teaching. Recipients are selected through a highly competitive review process that evaluates scholarly achievement, teaching impact, mentorship, and the integration of research and education.

This honor reflects Dr. Anderson’s outstanding contributions to scholarship, her dedication to student learning and mentorship, and her continued impact on the field and broader academic community.

In recognition of this award, Dr. Anderson will give a lecture titled, A Brain in Flux: Neural Mechanisms of Auditory Aging and the Promise of Plasticity.
