The goal of this research is to determine the mechanisms underlying how age and hearing loss impact speech-perception in noise and cocktail-party situations, specifically how age-related binaural-hearing deficits are affected by small to large hearing asymmetries. This project will perform a large battery of behavioral and electrophysiological assessments over the lifespan, and the utilize machine learning to guide hypothesis generation.
