Jessica Wertz, M.A., CCC-SLP, is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Maryland, College Park. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She earned her M.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park. Jessica’s clinical interests include support for non-speakers and AAC users, and stuttering across the lifespan. She is dedicated to clinical approaches which support meaningful change through respectful, affirmative, and client-led practices. Prior to joining the Hearing and Speech Clinic faculty, Jessica served on the AAC team at HSC Pediatric Center/Children’s National and also has experience as a school-based clinician. When she is not on campus, Jessica continues to work in the clinical setting providing stutter-affirming therapy with an emphasis on supporting young children and their families.
