Jessica Wertz, M.A., CCC-SLP, is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Maryland, College Park. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She earned her M.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park. Jessica’s clinical interests include support for non-speakers and AAC users, and stuttering across the lifespan. She is dedicated to clinical approaches which support behavioral change through respectful, affirmative, and client-led practices. Prior to joining the Hearing and Speech Clinic faculty, Jessica served on the AAC team at HSC Pediatric Center/Children’s National and also has experience as a school-based clinician. She is an associate at Sisskin Stuttering Center where she provides stutter-affirming therapy with an emphasis on supporting young children and their families.
